the night sky in hawaii

On our last night in Hawaii, my brother and I stayed up late to photograph the night sky over Lahaina on the island of Maui. I'd never really tried night sky photography before - at least not with any success. I didn't have a tripod with me so I pushed the camera up against this palm tree and the results were pretty decent.
